Bang Namphueng Floating Market

Do you know Bang Namphueng Floating Market? Yes, I will tell you about there. Today, I go to Bang Namphueng Floating Market. There is a new floating market near Bangkok located at Tambon Bang Namphueng, Phra Pradaeng district in Samut Prakan province. There is open only on Saturday and Sunday around 08.00 a.m. to evening. The charm of this floating market is the canal side lifestyle of the community whose members are mostly Thai-Mon. The quaint canal side market with about a hundred stalls selling mainly food and OTOP products are available here.

Bang Namphueng Floating Market divided 3 parts as follows:

1. Products from villagers such as mixed seasonal fruits and vegetables are banana, coconut, rose apple, backyard garden and also a lot of thai dessert such as Tasty Leaf-wrapped Tidbits (Miang Kam).

2. Many of the products are homemade as part of the One Tambon One Product (OTOP) scheme such as handcrafts, clothes and home decoration.

3. The retailer selling product from boat such as noodle, som tam, chicken rice, thai fish cake (Tod Mun) and juices.

In addition, there are boats for rent. You can have a sight-seeing of traditional Thai houses by paddling the boat. If you have a holiday of 2 days and 1 night, you can stay overnight at one of the houses in the Bang Namphueng homestay programme for see Firefly Glow-wormLighteningbug too.

If you have a free time on Saturday or Sunday. I recommend there. I like there because there have many food and I like travel like this but today I go there around 1:30 p.m., there have a lot of people and very hot but I’m happy.

Merit-Making

This is the story of happiness on merit-making. My elder brother and I went to make merit at a temple near my home on Asalha Bucha Day. Today is the Buddhist Lent Day, my elder sister and I went to make merit and poured candles at the temple this morning, too. We also listened to a sermon. The temple was crowded because people intended to make merit on the important Buddhist holidays. People wore beautiful dresses and they brought with them various food and deserts to offer to the monks. There were many children playing in the temple ground. The atmosphere was very warm as people gave smiles and handed sweets to children whose parents were their friends or relatives. This was a very wonderful picture for me.

On Buddhist holidays, I frequently accompany my elder brother to the temple to make merit when I have opportunities. I think merit-making is an age-old tradition of Buddhist disciples throughout the world. In fact, merit-making not only helps prolong Buddhist religion, but also helps eliminate human excessive desire. All Buddhists believe that through merit-making, we can dedicate merit to our dead relatives and friend as well. Importantly, we can take Buddhist principles from absorbing sermons to adapt in use with superior mental and developed state of our minds, and use the Buddhist principles to solve problems.

Today, I am beaming with merit and very happy!!!

What about you? Where do you go to make merit?

Ancient City in Samutprakan

The Ancient City is the door opening to the heritage of Thai wisdom. With a wide range of architectural symbols combined with fine arts and craftsmanship, structural layout and natural environment that integrate harmoniously, The Ancient City creates kind of atmosphere that induces visitors to perceive and appreciate the continuity of history, cultures, religions, arts and customs of Thai people.

Ancient cities, ruins or architecture are historic and constitute the splendors of the past. The past is the time, gone by, and its period represents a definite portion of time fixed by events occuring in nature or man-made in history, which follow one after another. The difference is that one precedes the other as the manner of the sun and the moon which take turns to give brightness to provide days, months and years. All phenomena have no point of beginning that can be clearly seen. There is a rotation-each following the other in regular order in a cycle. The effect today follows the cause of yesterday. The change of tomorrow is what happens today. Therefore, man must know the events of the past. If we have no knowledge of the past, it is somewhat like a vessel without a compass and a rudder on the high sea. What will happen to that vessel is a matter of grave concern.

Gingerbread

Amazing!!!

Baking the Gingerbread

- 1 1/4 cups packed dark-brown sugar
- 3/4 cup unsulfured molasses
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon coarse salt
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 6 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Combine brown sugar, molasses, butter, spices, and salt in a medium saucepan over low heat, stirring with a wooden spoon, until sugar is dissolved, about 10 minutes. Stir in the milk and remove the mixture from the heat.

Pour the mixture into a large mixing bowl and add the baking powder and flour. With an electric mixer, and beginning on low speed and increasing to medium, beat until well combined. Divide dough in even fourths and shape into disks. Wrap in plastic, and refrigerate overnight. Dough can be frozen up to 1 month and thaw in the refrigerator before using.

When you are ready to bake the gingerbread, preheat the oven to 350 degrees and roll out each dough disk on a lightly floured surface. The dough will be somewhat tough so you will really have to put some elbow grease into making it thin. Keep rolling in a back and forth motion, turning the disk of dough and flouring the pin and surface in between. Roll until the dough is about 1/8 of an inch thick. If the dough becomes warm from handling place it back into the refrigerator before cutting the stencils to cool the dough.

Using the pre-traced stencils, which you can download here, lay the stencil on top of the rolled out dough and cut the dough with a paring knife. Place the dough on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for about 15 minutes or until browned, rotating the sheet halfway. Let it cool completely.

Royal Icing

- 2 cup of powdered sugar, sifted
- 1 large egg white

Beat the egg whites in a bowl until foamy. Add in the sugar and continue to beat until white and glossy.

To decorate your gingerbread, scoop the icing into a pastry bag with a small tip or a large ziplock bag. If using a ziplock bag, push all the icing to one corner and snip the corner at a diagonal creating a very small hole.

Start decorating by creating fish-scale U’s on the two roofs. Trace the edges of the windows and doors with icing and add whatever additional details you’d like. We’ve added dots in addition to the lines, but this is the fun part of gingerbread houses, so use your imagination!

The icing should dry very hard and wait until it has completely dried before assembling the house.

Caramel

The caramel acts as the glue that holds your house together. When you are ready to assemble the house, start making the caramel. Because this cools quickly and hardens you can’t make this ahead of time.

- 1 1/2 cups of granulated sugar
- a small squeeze of lemon juice

Put the sugar in a saucepan and cook over high heat, stir the mixture until it starts caramelize and turn a deep amber about 10 minutes. Remove off the heat and begin to use immediately.

Assembling the Gingerbread House

Dip each adjoining side of the walls of the house in caramel and hold together for a few seconds. The caramel will harden holding the pieces together. Once all 4 walls are held together. you can attach the roof by using a spoon or small brush to trace the V-shape and attach the roof pieces.

Assemble the chimney together and brush the bottom with caramel and attach to one side of the roof.

Finishing Touches

Now that your house is assembled you can put on the finishing touches that truly transforms this gingerbread house into a winter wonderland. On a nice serving tray that you will be using to display the house, sift a thin layer of powdered sugar to cover so it looks like a pristine layer of fresh snow. Place the house on top of this layer. Add a few pine cones for trees and a couple of cinnamon sticks for wood logs. Dust another fine layer of powdered sugar over everything.

To make the icicles, carefully and lightly squeeze a small drip of icing holding the tip close to the roof. As you get it to your desired length, brush the tip onto the edge of the roof and the icing will stick to and hang from the roof.

Use a q-tip or your pinky finger to make little footprint imprints in the “snow.” Add whatever other touches you’d like and you have a beautiful and charming masterpiece!

and one friend slapped the other one in the face.

The one, who got slaaped, was hurt but without anything to say,

he wrote in the sand: " Today, my best friend slapped me in the face".

They kept on walking, until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath.

The one who got slapped and hurt start drowingand the other friend saved him.

When he covered from the fright, he wrote on a stone:

" Today my best friend save my life"

The friend who saved and slapped his best friend, asked him,

"Why, after I hurt, you wrote on the sand, and now you write on a stone?"

The other friend smiled and replied that

"When a friend hurts us, we should write down it in the sand,

where the winds of forgiveness, get in charge of erasing it away,

and when something great happens,

we should engrave it in the stone of the memory of the heart,

where no wind can erase it"

Learn to write in the sand.

Second Siam Park is in Spain?

I am sure eve
ryone has heard or been to Siam Park (Suan Siam) in Bangkok, as it’s a well-known theme park and also the biggest water park in South East Asia (not sure if it’s still now). But does anyone know that we have Siam Park in Spain too. Before I tell you, let me talk a bit of my story why I came up with this first.

I have
to admit that I was a big fan of Siam Park when I was a kid. I remember we, family always visited Siam Park every weekend. It was so much fun as I, my sis and my bro always got on every ride like roller coaster, merry-go-round, octopus, swing boat and etc. But the most fun part must be a water park part, as there are various types of pools such as a bubble pool, a pool with a huge slider or a sea-like pool which was amazing. Since then I became a water park lover and always interested in finding out that where else in the world has got a spectacular water paradise.

A few years ago, I was very surprised when I knew from TV news that our Princess Sirindhorn was in Spain to open a grand opening for Siam Park. It grabbed my attention right away when I first heard this news, as I thought that our Suan Siam was going to make a new business there, but actually they had nothing to do with that at all..haha. Well, it was just this Spain-made water paradise designer was so fascinated by Thai architecture, so everything in this water park from name to all of features are designed in Thai theme. I had to say WOW after I saw it from TV, and reminded me how much I loved this type of attraction. I mean I am not a kid now, but I am still into water parks. Other than that, I was also proud of our country that Thai style architecture was being showed in western country. This amazing water park is a temptation for me. I have to say that if I have a chance, I will have to visit there for sure. But now let me save some money first ^_^

I have posted some pictures of Siam Park Spain here--they look cool, aren’t they? Also, you can find more pictures easily on google or this website www.themeparkguy.com , it’s a very cool source of theme parks guides all around the world. Enjoy!

Caffeine....

How much is good for us?
Caffeine is not only found in coffee, it is also found in black tea, green tea, chocolate, some soft drinks, energy drinks and over the counter medications and how much of them will be ok for us ?
It is generally agreed that consuming up to 300 mg of caffeine per day is safe. That would be about the amount of caffeine you would get from three cups of coffee. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant may want to decrease that amount or skip the caffeine altogether. Increasing the amount of caffeine you take in over 300 mg per day may give you "caffeine jitters." Larger amounts of caffeine may make you irritable, sleepless and may even trigger anxiety and cause diarrhea. But caffeine withdrawal can give you headaches, make you crabby, give you muscle aches and generally you may feel miserable for a few days. However, after a week or so, the withdrawal symptoms will pass.

New ice cream celeb's figure

Today i've found a good topic about ice cream, so I bring it for you.

Ice cream celeb's figure

All of these come from Russia

I wish that someone will take this idea and do something with Thailand's ice cream.
Trifle of women.

A woman do everything by emotion. This is a woman. In a bad day, I can see myself is an ugly woman, but in a good day, I also see myself is a beautiful woman.

In my sensation, the women are all the same which depend on their mood at that time so no men understand them. Sometime, some women have pendulous mood all time. So, the trifle of women is gathered for some men who truly don’t know the woman.
  1. Women can remember everything but they don’t say anything because they want to know that you can remember alike them.
  2. Although the women love their boyfriend very much, they may be hate him so much and want to abuse unreasonably.
  3. Women prefer to shopping than playing game.
  4. Women can listen better than the men.
  5. A beautiful decoration is the most satisfied for women.
  6. Woman is a collector such as they always keep their boyfriend’s letter or their photo.
  7. Women are more sensitive to cold than men.
  8. Women dislike a man who is full of a sweat.
  9. In the emergent situation, women are control their mood better than a man.

These are my some ideas which I met it. And you? Do you have any ideas to sharing?   I think that the trifle of women much more than my opinion that depend on your mind only.

5 Easy Ways to Fix Things by Beer

1. Give cast-iron pot cleanup. Have you ever felt fed up with scrubbing pots and pans after cooked your meal. If yes, try pouring a little beer into the still warm pan because the bubbly liquid of beer keeps the mess from sticking and you then cook much more food as you like, regardless of cleaning you pots anymore.

2. Loosen rusty bolts and screws. If your screws in the box turn corroded, you can pour a few gulps of beer on the screws, wait just a few seconds and then the screws become new ones for you. That’s because the carbonation helps break down the rust.

3. Make jewelry sparkle. Stop buying pricey cleansing product for your ornaments since you can use a light beer with a clean towel for polishing your gold jewelry to remove any dirt. Your jewelry turns sparkle as the beer’s nature acids help bring its shine back.

4. Get a good night’s sleep. (Besides, drinking it before bedtime.) With a little beer you can wash pillowcase in water because beer is made of hops which sometimes is used as herbal remedy for insomnia. What’s more, the hops have the chemical compound, which has calming and slightly tranquilizing effects.

5. Relax your soles. Make a mixture of room-temp beer and warm peppermint tea (half: half) and soak your feet into a small tub of the mixture for 20 minutes. After that, the enzymes in beer soften your toughened feet and finally your tired feet become lively.

It's better to be born lucky than rich/smart

I am not sure if anyone has heard this saying-- but I totally agreed with it, as the story of mine that I am going to tell you are quite relevant to it. I would call this story as my unexpected luck.

Since I was a kid I have always wanted to visit western countries. But I didn’t know how to make that happen. Then one day, my sister’s friend brought me a newspaper advert about art contest as she knew that I liked drawing and painting. The prize was so fascinating--it’s a trip to Disneyland Par
is. I was so excited about that but at the same time I said to myself that I was not going to win this. There were lots of kids out there who were better than me.

Two weeks later I participated in a contest and I was the last one left in a room. Most of the kids were already outside waiting for a result. It took time for me as I had to write a short essay connected with what I drew. I got stuck and it’s worse when the judges came into the room deliberating a piece of art of each one. It was a pressure to be in such environment. I eventually finished and walked out lacking of self-confidence. I told my mum and dad that I w
ould like to go home without waiting for a result.

An hour later at the contest room, I walked in and was so surprised to find my piece or art with the red ribb
on showing on the wall--yes! it was me winning the prize to Disneyland Paris. Who is going to believe that an ordinary 14 year-old girl like me would win something this big. I was so glad and proud of myself and thought how lucky I was. This story that I considered it as luck was not going to happen without a friend of my sister who told me about the contest plus a little bit of the talent that I got.

I am not sure if what I told you links to the quote above, but it was one of my experiences that I would like to share to everyone here. Smartness or richness does not always means that you can get anything you want-- sometimes it depends on your fortune. But how come I never won a lottery…hehe
