Be glad your nose is on your face

Be glad your nose is on your face,
not pasted on some other place,
for if it were where it is not,
you might dislike your nose a lot.
Imagine if your precious nose
were sandwiched in between your toes,
that clearly would not be a treat,
for you’d be forced to smell your feet.
Your nose would be a source of dread
were it attached atop your head,
it soon would drive you to despair,
forever tickled by your hair.
Within your ear, your nose would be
an absolute catastrophe,
for when you were obliged to sneeze,
your brain would rattle from the breeze.
Your nose, instead, through thick and thin,
remains between your eyes and chin,
not pasted on some other place
be glad your nose is on your face!

Build a Box of friendship

Into a box of friendship
To insure that it is strong
First a layer of respect
On the bottom does belong
Then to the sides attach
In the corners where they meet
Several anchors full of trust
Devoid of all deceit
The height of friendship can be measured
By the sides of four
So make them all a larger cut
And the box will hold much more
Now fill it up with courtesy
Honor and esteem
Understanding, sympathy
And to that your honesty
Emotions, joy and love
And since they’re so important
Place them up above
But leave the box wide open
So all can see inside
To learn what makes a friendship work
From the box you built with pride

The Emerald Buddha

A city of Bangkok (or Ratanakosin) was established by King Rama I as his capital in 1782.Being determined to observe the tradition of constructing a Buddhist temple in the compound of the Royal Palace which has been practiced since the Sukhothai Period, King Rama I (Phra Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke) had the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (or Wat Phra Kaew) comstiane in laos. The construction took two years to complte and the famous image was then moved from the Thonburi Capital to the present location in 1784.
The Emereld Buddha is actually carved from a large piece of green jade. The lap of the image is 48.3 cm. wide and the height, including the base, is 66 cm. It is in a seated position with the right leg resting on the left one. However, there is no clear evidence to prove from where the image originated or who sculpted it but it first appeared on record in 15th century in Chiang Rai. Judging from its style, it seems to be from the Chiang Saen Period.
It is said that lighting struck a pagoda of a temple in Chiang Rai in northern Thailand and a Buddha image covered with stucco was found inside. The image was then kept with the abbot who later removed all the stucco and found the Emerald Buddha.
At that time, the town of Chiang Rai was under the rule of the King of Chiang Mai. The king wanted to bring the Emerald Buddha to Chiang Mai but he did not succeed. Thus, the Buddha image was allowed to remain in Lampang for 32 years until 1468 it was taken to Chiang Mai by King Tiloka.
When the King of Chiang Mai passed away in 1551, the Emerald Buddha was taken to Laos by Prince Chaichettha who succeeded his grandfather (King of Chiang Mai) and ruled Chiang Mai for one year, but the Prince decided to go back to Laos to succeed the throne of his father. The Emerald Buddha thus remined in Laos since then.
In 1778 during the reign of Kong Taksin of Thonburi, General Chakri, who later succeeded King Taksin as Rama I, Captured Vientiane and brought the Emerald Buddha back to Thailand. With the establishment of Bangkok as his capital, the Buddha was installed in the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and has been the palladium of Thailand ever since.
King Rama I had two royal robes made for the Emerald Buddha, one to be worn in summer and one for the rainy season. Later King Rama III added another one for winter. The three robes are still solemnly changed at the beginning of each season by His Majesty the King.

Charmed

Since I was a kid, I love watching movies and series. I have been collecting movie’s DVDs. I love Chinese series, Hong Kong’s series, and American’s series. My favourite series is “Charmed”. It is American’s series. It is about three sisters who are witches and everyone called them “Charmed One”. Their names are Piper, Phoebe and Paige. Piper has a power to stop evil’s movement and blow up evils. Phoebe has a power to have a vision about the future when she touches someone so she can protect a bad event to happen. Paige has a power to be invisible and show up at the place that she wants. All three sisters have a power of three, they will defeat the evil together. This series made me impression because it is about magic and love of three sisters. It has seven seasons and I kept all of that. I am very crazy about this series and three main actresses so I ordered the book of this series on “Amazon Website”. The name of this book is “The book of shadow”. I thought it is the same book as in series that is about magic to conquer the evil but it is not. I was very disappointed with this book because I paid a lot. This series is not famous in Thailand so it does not have Thai-subtitled. It just has English-subtitled so I thought it made me improve my English. I can listen better and it was so cool when I can understand every single word of what they said.

To find something new into our lives

We always want to find something new into our lives because it’s so easy to make us feel bored at the same activities that we used to do. Naturally, we also couldn’t keep us in a compared permanent situation or life style. There is something more interesting or exciting outside was the concept that always hanging in our mind. Here is an interesting phenomenon that occurred to me and one of my friends.
I used to keep myself busy for a long time already because my daily life is full of many activities. I’ve to get up at 6:00 and go to sleep at 23:00 for each day, so I really want to find a quiet environment for relaxing during my holiday or weekends. But one of friends used to keep free for each day. Whenever she has got a holiday or weekends she will make a schedule to do a lot of activities in order to make she feel very busy and tired because she wants to enjoy the feeling of busy occasionally. What an interesting comparison between she and me! Some hopes to busy when they have a vacation but some do the opposite way. The reason is they always want to have something new happened to their life and expected to have or experience something that they don’t have.

One Good Day

Last Sunday, I was bored with staying only in my room and would like to go somewhere. My friend called me at noon then I asked her to go to make merit with me. She was thinking the same thing. We started our trip by heading without knowing where we would go. Then my friend recommended Chachoengsao for pay respect to Luang Poa Sotorn. I was a driver and my friend was a navigator. After we got on Motorway, my friend seemed to forget the direction then I tell her not to worry about it, wherever it take us to . Hence, we were on the road to Ayuttaya. We went to "Wat-Yai Chaimongkol Temple" and "Wat- Pranunchoeng Temple", both of us glow with happiness. At dinner, we went to a Thai restaurant named "Krua Ya Bua" which we never try before. The food that we ordered: Lab squid, Chu Chee shrimp, Deep fried fish with mango salad, and Casseroled Prawns. They were so delicious and fresh. We came back to Bangkok in the evening. That day was one of good days of mine.

My impression

Tik- Jadsaporn Pholdee who is very popular, good looking guy, and has perfect body that grab all every woman's heart at this moment, include me also. Now on Monday and Tuesday night, I am looking forward to watch Thai drama on channel 3 called "Wanida". Both actor and actress are my favorite stars. Tik reminded me to the old day in university. He was in the university as same as me. He studied in the Industrial Engineering. I saw him since the second year in campus. After, he debut in the movie named "the Gangster 2499" and other movies. He becomes famous since then. One day that my impression was begun. I was in the same elevator privately. I was so excited and my heart missed a beat. I could not ever look at him and never forgot that moment. Unfortunately for every woman that he got married last year, but I am still follow up his acting.

Inspiration

Last week, I spent my spare time to go to see a thai movie "First Love". What I love most in the movie is a phrase "you are my inspiration." For me, the word 'inspiration' has a great meaning to human beings because they cannot succeed anything without inspiration. Inspiration can drive humans to change impossible things into possible things. Inspiration may come from need, ambition or love which plays an important role in humans' lives. For me, mom is my inspiration to let me do everything. I want to be a good boy, try to study hard and work hard because of my mom. I want her to feel proud of myself as much as possible. Every time my mom smiles at me when I achieve, I feel that I don't need anything. Only her smile can makes me happiest.

PROUD TO BE THAI

This is postscript which continued chapter from essay named "The Buddhist kingdom of
Thailand". In fact, everyone should proud of their own country. I never feel regret to born in this country. Even though, my country is not the best country or the biggest country in the world but I am very happy and proud of what we have today. We have a country which also well known as the 'Land of smiles'. We have the prosperity land which can plant the rice throughout the year. Thailand has a lot of places to visit. In different places, we can see different culture. In different culture; we can see many types of people. The goods and foods in Thailand are very cheap. The food is good such as "Somtam", "Tomyamkung"and "Pud-thai". It is very delicious and tourist's favorite food. Our culture can attract many tourists from many part of the world. I am also very proud of our history. We have a very long meaningful history and we learned our mistake from the history so that we do not repeat the same mistake. Even though, our country has the problem right now but I hope that the
situation is not getting too seriously. I hope to see the smiles appear on the face from everyone again.

The Buddhist kingdom of Thailand

The Buddhist kingdom of Thailand is famous for kindness, smiley faces, and elaborate religious sites. In this issue, Weekend Guide would like to take you to Wat Phra Kaew, the most sacred Buddhist temple in Thailand.
Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram is the full official name of Wat Phra Kaew. It was constructed in the reign of King Rama I during the time when the city was moved across the river from Thonburi. It is the house of the Emerald Buddha that was taken from Laos. As the temple is in the same compound with the Grand Palace, there are no monks in the temple. Besides the graceful Emerald Buddha, the temple area is also elegantly gorgeous.
Phra Ussadamahachachedi is located on the Eastern side of the temple premises. There are 8 square base-structure pagodas in different color with an individual name. On the Northern side is the location of Hor Montiendhamma which is the first library in Bangkok. The ancient Tripitaka are kept in this hall. Not far from the library is the location which is the hall that resides the relics of King Rama l-lv’s upper-class servants. Hor Phra Kanthaenrath is on the Southern slde of the temple premises. The hall is the house of Phra Kantharnrath Buddhist image in paim beckon posture for the royal ploughing ceremony day. The windows are carved in Prha Phirun (Varuna), the god of rain on the naga, a bunch of spike, and fish in the water. Wall murals tell the story of the royal ploughing ceremony and traditional meteorology ceremony.
There are a lot more interesting things to see in Wat Phra Kaew not only the sacred Emerald Buddha. We would like to encourage you that there are tons of fantastic places to see in our country, the kingdom of Thailand.
I'm proud to be Thai whom born in the country of peaceful and prosperity.

I love you, MOM

Today is my mother’s birthday. I and my father decide to celebrate her birthday by dinner outside and I will take this chance to make her up because we have disputed each other since I changed the job. Sometimes she would like to express the feeling to me for relieve my suffering, she try to make understand with reasons and I try to explain my desire, so we always end by fighting. She told me that how she got happiness if I wasn’t happy. Everything that she did, I exactly know that she did because of loving me.

Missy Cornucopia VS Missy Cream Horn

Cornucopia, I learned this word from an academic writing which the author of this writing selected this word to refer to enrich of sources on the earth that people could fetch a benefit from. I think that this word is kind of a fancy word for academic writing as same as the Garden of Eden which I learned from another academic writing too. The Garden of Eden, this word refers to the Earth’s riches which can support human live. I like those words because they are beautiful words and both authors took those words on their writing as a figurative sense (figurative meaning).

About Cream Horn, Umm… how do I say? This is one kind of bakery. Its shape is similar to a horn. It has creamy in the middle hole and the creamy can be a whipped cream, vanilla or chocolate cream. Sometime I see a yellow cream too— it is not a vanilla cream and the cream colour is darker. If the hole is big, of course, you can try a big taste of cream. On top of the horn has a sprinkle of icing. (It depends on the style of a baker, I think). Anyway, it is So Good!... Please wait.

The point that I would like to say is when I saw the cornucopia picture, I imagined of cream horn immediately. As you look at that both pictures, I think the shape of Cornucopia VS Cream Horn is similar to each other. Both of them can be a medium of past and present which shows us about the plenty of life, I am kidding. Cornucopia has plenty of fruits and Cream Horn overflows of cream. Are those looking good? Do not you stop reading? I am thinking that it is time for your afternoon delight.

Hiking Diamond Head

Diamond Head is the famous volcano that seemed Waikiki that symbolizes Hawaii. Each year, thousands of tourists take their pictures at here. Diamond Head is O’ahu’s most famous landmark, and symbolizes Hawaii to people around the world. Last summer vacation my friend and I climbed Diamond Head, and the view was even better than I remember it being. It was especially elegant to see Waikiki beach from that vantage point, since it was almost like you can imagine what it looked like back before all the commercialization. The top of all hotels and other buildings are really small, so the scenery itself becomes the main thing you notice when looking out. It was a strenuous hike though. I think someone told me there was about 150 steps to climb to get to the top, and believe me these were no ordinary steps. They were really steep and everyone we saw ourselves included. We had to stop at least once or twice along the way. As we reach the top of Diamond Head, we had enjoy great views of Waikiki. This hike was fun and exciting to reach the top.
