I am surely that everybody knows “Facebook” but do you know history of it?

Now!! I want to tell you about the story of Facebook … Let’s go!!

 Facebook is a social network service and website launched in February 2004 that is operated and privately owned by Facebook, Inc. As of January 2011, Facebook has more than 600 million active users. Users may create a personal profile, add other users as friends and exchange messages, including automatic notifications when they update their profile. Additionally, users may join common interest user groups, organized by workplace, school, or college, or other characteristics. The name of the service stems from the colloquial name for the book given to students at the start of the academic year by university administrations in the US with the intention of helping students to get to know each other better. Facebook allows anyone who declares themselves to be at least 13 years old to become a registered user of the website.

Facebook was founded by Mark Zuckerberg with his college roommates and fellow computer science students Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes.The website's membership was initially limited by the founders to Harvard students, but was expanded to other colleges in the Boston area, the Ivy League, and Stanford University. It gradually added support for students at various other universities before opening to high school students, and, finally, to anyone aged 13 and over.

A January 2009 Compete.com study ranked Facebook as the most used social network service by worldwide monthly active users, followed by MySpace. Entertainment Weekly put it on its end-of-the-decade "best-of" list, saying, "How on earth did we stalk our exes, remember our co-workers' birthdays, bug our friends, and play a rousing game of Scrabulous before Facebook?”Quantcast estimates Facebook has 135.1 million monthly unique U.S. visitors in October 2010.According to Social Media Today as of April 2010, it is estimated that 41.6% of the U.S. population has a Facebook account.

My best Japan trip part VIII

From Miyajima, next stop was Hakata which is a city in the Fukoka prefecture. This 32 square kilometers city is located in the north of Kyushu island, the largest eastern island of Japan. This lively city is 1,070 miles away from Tokyo and it was the half way of this long journey before turned back to celebrate New year in Tokyo.

Arrived at 6.30 p.m., I went to a restaurant nearby the train station because my Japanese friend suggested that I should try Mentaiko, a kind of fish noodle, which is one of the spiciest noodle in Japan. From September to December I never had a chance to test the real spicy Japan food and I wanted to compare its taste with Tomyam Kung.

Mentaiko restaurant was easily found in the station, but the problem was which restaurant would be the best one. Therefore, I choose the most crowded restaurant. With many side dishes such as fresh vegetable, boiled green nut, sea weed and so on made me really enjoy eating. A little spicy taste of the soup, the high quality of fresh fish and the soft and sticky of the noodle attracted mostly Japanese traveler to test it, and so did I. However, in my opinion the taste of Tumyam Kung is much more delicious than this Japanese noodle.

Next morning, I observe the area of the city and found that the norm of Fukuoka was different from Tokyo. I felt that people in Fukuoka was more relax than people in Tokyo. I walked along the streets, train station and business area and saw that people here didn’t too hurry even on the rush hour. It may be because the abandon of food of this area and the suitable weather to grow the crop so in the past people of Fukuoka may easily cultivate their food from its tremendous nature resources. This make Fukuoka people more relax compare to the resource-deprived area in many part of Japan including Tokyo.

A Jasmine—a Sign of Mother’s Day

Mother is an important person for everyone’s life. For Mother’s Day of this year is going to arrive, many people are looking for things for paying respect to their mothers. I believe that a jasmine is the best thing for many people’s views. So, I take good information about meaning of the jasmine to offer you today.

Jasmine is known as the symbol of Mother's Day, 12th August of every year. The Mother's Day in Thailand has been established according to the effect of other countries' Mother's Day and the thought of ''Confucianism'' in term of gratefulness which is quite similar to the Thai old believe. The first Mother's Day in Thailand had been established on 10th March, 1943. However, because of the World War II, the celebration had been discontinued. After being revived so many times, finally, the Mother's Day had been changed to 12th August of every year as it is Her Majesty the Queen's birthday. Besides, jasmine had been set up as the symbol of Mother's Day since then.

Why does it have to be jasmine?

•Jasmine is easy to find according to Thailand geography and weather.
•The propitious feature of jasmine that give people the sense of purity and amenity.
•The nature of jasmine, which is the long last smell and all year blossoming, represents the love of a mother to her child.
•The property of healing and heart restoration of jasmine represents the mother's care on a child.
•The meaning of jasmine is ''You are the only one I love the most'' or ''You are the magnificent one for me''.

In my view, the profound meaning of a jasmine can be a good sign of showing love for a child’s love to a mother. The mother’s love is the pure love like the jasmine’s pure white. The mother’s love has no conditions or bids. It’s the love without ending up that a child can’t completely describe with speech or letters. Although my beloved mother passed away for 10 years, I still always think of her. I usually take a jasmine and a jasmine garland to put before her picture for showing respect to her in Mother’s Day of every year. For the Mother’s Day of this year is like that, I have already prepared a jasmine and a jasmine garland to pay respect to my mother. Graduation and Approve for Degree

Graduation

Graduate students who will graduate must have general qualifications and follow all the conditions:
1. Pass all courses required in the curriculum according to the regulations of KMUTNB section 7: Measurement and Evaluation.
2. Pass the foreign Language test according to the conditions and the regulations section 7, number 36.
3. Have the cumulative grade point average of all courses required not less than 3.00.
4. Have the study duration not longer than 5 academic years.
5. Meet all requirements of the curriculum.

Master Degree

Plan A
(1) Pass all courses required both credit and non-credit.
(2) Pass the defensive examination with satisfaction.
(3) Submit the complete thesis that have been approved by Graduate College.
(4) Thesis or a part of the thesis have been published in the academic journal or presented at any annual conference with proceedings.
Plan B
(1) Pass all courses required both credit and non-credit.
(2) Pass the comprehensive examination with satisfaction.
(3) In case of doing master project, the students have to pass the defensive examination with satisfaction. Submit the complete master projects that have been approved by Graduate College.

Approve for Degree

Students may be considered to approve for Degree to the university council, must meet all the characteristics required as follows:

(1) Graduate according to regulations of KMUTNB section 10: Graduation and Approve for Degree and Diploma, number 68.

(2) Follow all the requirements of Graduate College.

(3) Pay all dept to the university (if any).

(4) Not being punished or on considering.

(5) Behave properly.

Oslo, Norway

Because of the news about the terrible incident happened in Oslo, Norway, I read more about Oslo for I've visited there in May. I think that it is such a quiet and peace city and the people are looked so kind that the incident should not occur. On the day I've visited Oslo, ther was a celebration in the hall and people put on traditional suits to joy that celebration and I've

taken the photos with some of them.

Oslo is the capital and most populous city in Norway. As a municipality, it was established on January 1, 1838. Founded around 1048 by King Harald III of Norway, the city was largely destroyed by fire in 1624. The city was moved under the reign of Denmark-Norway's King Christian IV. It was rebuilt closer to Akershus Fortress, as Christiania (briefly also spelt Kristiania). In 1925, the city reclaimed its original Norwegian name, Oslo.

Oslo is the cultural, scientific, economic and governmental centre of Norway. The city is also a hub of Norwegian trade, banking, industry and shipping. The city is home to many companies within the maritime trade in Europe. The city is home to many companies within the maritime sector, some of which are amongst the world's largest shipping companies, shipbrokers and maritime insurance brokers. Oslo is a pilot city of the Council of Europe and the European Commision Intercultural cities program. On my trip to Oslo, I went there by yatch from Copenhagen, Denmark. I enjoyed the night on the yatch very much. There in Oslo I've seen another yatch from other country also, it came from Germany.

Oslo is considered a global city and ranked "Beta World City" in studies performed by the Globalization and World Cities Study Group and Network in 2008. For several years, Oslo has been listed as one of the most expecsive cities in the world along with such other global cities, as Zurich, Geneva, Copenhagen, Paris, and Tokyo. In 2009, however, Oslo regained its status as the world's most expensive city. A survey conducted by ECA International in 2011 placed Oslo 2nd after Tokyo. Last two weeks before I wite this blog, I've heard from the radio about the highest parking rate in the world (more than 2000 baht per day), can you guess where it is? It's Oslo, Norway.

As of 2010, the metropolitan area of Oslo has a population of 1,442,318 of whom 912,406 live in the contigous conurbation. The population currently increase as a record rate of 1.64% annually, making it the fastest growing city in Europe. This growth stems from immigration, as Norwegian population in the city is decreasing. The immigrant share of the population in the city proper now counts more than 25% of the city's total. Is this the reason that guy do the very terrible thing to people of his own country, especially the young people?

Eminem brought me luck!

If you like listening to Rap music, you must have heard of Eminem. He is probably one of a few white rappers who can do rap music as good as black rappers. This is why he became a big name in many music charts. But today I am not going to talk how popular he is; on the other hand, I am going to talk how he brought luck to me.

Last night I watched Eminem’s new music video on Channel V. Then, I suddenly remembered that he was a person who gave me luck to win a trip to England to see him at a music festival.

This unexpected luck happened to me in 2001 when I was 19 years old . It was an age that I was really into hardcore and rap music. I especially obsessed with Eminem because of his music and his uniqueness. One day, I bought his CD and there was a coupon inside the CD case. The coupon was a ticket you can send to compete for a trip to see Eminem concert in England.

Without a doubt, I was not going to lose this chance. The strange thing was I had a sneaky feeling that I was going to win this. Then, the next three weeks, I knew that my feeling did not lie to me as I received good news from a record company that I was a winner from a lucky draw to go to see Eminem concert at a music festival in England. I was like..Oh my god!.. I was the lucky one! I was shocked and speechless. It was hard to believe to win this type of competition as It was all depend on your luck. This was not the first time I won an oversea trip, but it was a second time.

It was such good experience to travel to England, especially to the music festival as it is considered one of the most popular events to join besides football when you go to England. The original music festival is in a town called Glastonbury which is the best-known. The festival switched among 3 towns--Glastonbury, Leeds and Reading. The one I went to was the last one which was not far from London.

I went there as a press so I could get to see most musicians so close, except Eminem that I could not get to see him that close. Because he was on a main stage and was a high- light of the day, so people tried to grab a space to get to see him closer at a front row. The location of the festival was very big, just like what I expected to see. The day I went was drizzling all day which was a weather you could not get away since you were in England and a ground was muddy but people loved that. It was quite common to see festival-goers covered in mud because it was all about fun and let themselves lose.

Music festivals in England usually take 3 days and they run music all day all night. So what I saw was many colorful tents set up around the festival area which were music lovers who were intended to settle down for a whole three days. I was glad to experience this type of event and to see my favorite rapper in person along with other musicians I liked. It was like many young people’s dreams to get to see singers you were crazy for, and I made it! This luck that I got from a singer I liked was just hard to forget.

The king cobra

A king cobra is the world’s largest venomous snake. It is armed with small yet formidable fangs that no tiger would mess with. It measure four to five metres in length. It lives in parts of India and South East Asia. The king cobra has venom, but not as much as a cobra. The venom of king cobra affects to nervous system (Neurotoxin) can kill human and animal because the amounts of venom injected by fangs have a lot of venom. The king cobra has a habit is quite fierce. If you are not imminent or hurt it, it will not hurt you. The food of king cobra is other small animal such as frog or lizard, and mice.The female king cobra is so protective of her eggs. She is a very dedicated parent.

Dusit zoo

Dusit zoo, Khao-din or Khao-din Wana, has been part of the life of Thai families ever since it was founded during the reign of King Ram V. Nowadays, I can also see how Khao-din itself is developing and improving. In Khao-din, you can get close to a variety of animals ranging from familiar domestic animal to deer, monkey, meerkats, and rabbits. You can also get a clearer idea of how animals live in the wild by visiting the night day zoo. Khao-din is not only a quality zoo, but it is also a park in the center of town where family and friends can relax. If you have not been to the zoo lately, then weekend may be the ideal time for your next visit.
