Elephant Reintroduction Foundation

I've translated one news about elephants in city. I've learnt\ that Elephant Reintroduction Foundation is under Her Majesty the Queen's patronage. H.M Queen Sirikit wants to help Thai elephants, domestic elephants to live in a forest.

The foundation will find the prospected elephants for the release program. And will pay the financial incentives per month to elephant owners for their elephants. Anyway before releasing, there are physical check up and health for these elephants. And also they will be trained to adapt themselves to wild habitat. After that the foundation officer will verify possibility in returning elephants to a wild. If yes, the elephants will be back into the wild. Finally, the officer will track and observe the elephant's behavior.

In 1997 the first 3 elephants-- Bualoi, Boonmee and Malai, were released by HM Queen Sirikit. The foundation can return many elephants to nature. You can see more information about elephants returned to a wild and the follow-up of them at http://elephantreintroduction.blogspot.com
