The biggest gold Buddha image in the World


        This Buddha image is called "Phra Buddha Maha Suwanna Patimakorn" also known as "Phra Tong Wat Tri Mitr" (the golden Buddha image of Wat Trimitr). This Buddha image also is admired by many Art professors as the most beautiful gold Buddha image. This Buddha image also has been record by Guiness's book of World Record as the biggest gold Buddha image of the world.
         This Buddha image was casted with 90% gold in the form of Classical architectural style of Sukhothai.This buddha image is believed that King Ramkhamhaeng the great, 3rd king of Sukhothai kingdom, order the buddha image built and enshrined in the principal image hall of Wat Mahathat in the center of the old city of Sukhothai as the statement of King Ramkhamhaeng's 1st stone inscription; ...at the center of Sukhothai, the gold Buddha image and Phra Attarot, the 18-elbow-height Buddha image,are enshrined...
         After the fall of Sukhothai kingdom, this Buddha image has been disappeared from Thai history. Until 1932 AD, this buddha image was discovered accidently while transferring a big brick-and-mortar-built Buddha Image from Wat Phraya Krai to Wat Traimitr. At the incident, the brick-and-mortar-built Buddha image fell from the crane and made it cracked. The crack exposed that there is the gold buddha image inside the brick-and-mortar-built Buddha image. The abbott at the time ordered to get rid of all plaster surface, and brought the gold Buddha image to the image hall, and ,then, it has been moved to the new big mondhop structure until now.
         In 1991, the Guinness's book of World Record records this Buddha image as the biggest gold Buddha image of the World:
   ...Highest intrinsie value is the 15th-century gold Buddha in Wat trimitr Temple in Bangkok, Thailand. It is 3-04 m 10 ft tall and weights estimated 5 1/2 tonnes.
