writing and cognitive

To all,

This is the second story after we know how to play the blog. And I think that everyone would love it as it is a channel for us to express general opinions and what we have learned from the text and shared it together.

This week, the text talks about how we can develop our cognitive ability through writing. It cited a research about the development of writing abilities in children from different ages as an example.

The study carried out by James Briton and four other British scholars found that writing practices can help promote cognitive development of the people in which I agreed with the finding.

Because no matter what we start writing, we must first understand our issues or we may miss some important information that we want to tell readers.

Apart from the study, we have been told to know about the writing styles which were defined as expressive, transactional and poetic. From the explanation and examples, they helped me able to understand about their differences and objectives.

For the expressive style, we always focused on their self while transactional one talked about general information and the last one is about poetic writing.

Dear all, we have also learned ways how to write non-stop of so-called free writing but anyway remember we had done it during the previous class. I know some of you who have never practiced this kind of writing style would feel a bit difficult to express their idea into English language.

But I think that isn’t the problem. If you write more, your idea will be flowing . Yet, I think for sure free writing is still an affective way to teach writing skills.

You did not worry about your grammar and other English rules or even the theme of the story. For me I like this kind of free writing. I don’t like a free writing with a given subject.

Thanks
