Where is an actual accent when you have to speak English?

Yesterday at work, my friend forwarded me a funny video about speaking English among Thai. The video showed some truth that some Thai people try to speak English with a very good accent and Thai mixing together when they talk to their Thai friends, but when it comes to a real situation that they have to speak English properly with native speakers, they just hardly speak it or get stuck with the actual accent.

After I watched this video, I thought it was so true as I have seen that type of person myself. One of them was my English teacher when I was in a junior school. It was so funny that this video reminded me of her. I remembered that she liked to emphasize the accent of every word in English, but sometimes I thought it was just too much – maybe she tried to make it fun for class– but when there was a time she had to speak English with a foreigner, she turned to be a different person. She spoke with him in a less emphasized accent that it sounded more like Thai accent. Her reaction with a foreigner was also different than when she was in class—in class she was a bit exaggerated but with him she was like awkward. All that I said, I meant no offense to her but I found it was strange that some Thai people liked to speak a real good English accent for fun with their friends, but when they have to do it when native speakers, they just can’t or get shy.














My friends at work have a same type of this syndrome too—haha.. I call it as a syndrome now—I noticed that she liked to speak a real good accent of English to her friends, but when she was assigned to do MC in English, she just got freaked out and asked me to do it instead. What is wrong with these people… I don’t get it.

Anyway, making your accent like native speakers’ ones is good, but please keep it good when you speak with them too. It’s good for you!

P' Jang, I am here to say that you are doing a good job as an insurance agent. As I have known you for 3 terms, I never been asked of forced from you to buy insurance...haha But all you give is good advice to us.

What colour do you like?

What color do you like? Why I ask about this? because when I was a child and studied in Prathom, my teacher asked me about color I like and I can not answer since I can not remember the color in English. The most favorite color I like is Blue and Pink. In my opinion, Blue means a man who is warm, lively, and strong and Pink means a lady who is lovely, tender, and generous. In my opinion, the color you like can show your characteristics and self. If we said Blue color and Pink color, what do you think of them? I think the sky and sea for Blue and Pink is a flower i.e. the rose in pink. Can you tell me what color does you like and what it's meaning in your opinion? When you select to buy the items such as pen, pencil, towel, clothes and etc, you will select the color that you like. Is this correct? Do you have an admired color?

The Reality Show of Korea : We got married

I believe that many Thai people like to watch the Korean series, the game show or the reality show of Korea. I am the one who like it very much because it is funny and enjoyable to watch. The most favorite reality show of Korea that I like is We Got Married. There are a couple like a husband and wife in the family to get married and they spent their life and do the activities together. Yonghwa (a male) and Seohyun (a female) are the best couple that I am very crazy and would like them to be a sweetheart in the real life. The watcher or audience called them "Sweet Potato Couple". The reason why they are called because Seohyun loves the potato very much. If you have a chance to see this, you must be addicted by them. Are you ready to impress and catch some attention?

Insurance Agents or Sales Representatives

I have worked in an insurance industry field for 7 years. I remembered that an English teacher was my dream job when I was young and the job that I did not want to work was an insurance agent (sales representatives of all insurances). The reason why I did not want to work and why I do hate this job because I thought the agent cheated and lied the customer. In addition, they were not qualified and uneducated to sell. Not only they can not explain or recommend the suitable insurance package for the customer but also, they convinced and persuaded aggressively and hardly. These made the customer uncomfortable and finally, the customer did the insurance because can not reject them. I can say like this because I used to touch that feeling and I was the one person who faced this uncomfortable situation and signed the application along with the premium payment. For this reason, I really understood everything of the customer. I promised with myself that I would give the knowledge of the insurance to the customer and would not force them to do the insurance, if they were not willing to do. I want to be a good insurance agent in the insurance business.

My mom is very great!

Last Friday is the special day for Thai people. That day is Mother's Day. My sisters and I went to see my mom at the new house and we bought the supplement food to her because our mom was working hard in this time. After we had lunch together, we went to visit our relatives at Meenburee and Ramintra Road. I thought it was very enjoyable to see them since it was long time that we did not talk and have dinner. When we finished our dinner, it was time that we must go home. I was very happy to spend time all days with my family, especially, my mom. I would like to say "Thank you very much" to mom that she tried to do everything for me and gave me birth but I did not say that words, it was very sad but I said I love mom the most in the world. When I felt depressed, hopeless, sad, weak and bad emotion, who is the first person beside me that is my Mom so, I do love her more than my life. Sometimes, I did something not good to her but she has never been angry of me. I used to think if I did not have mom, how can I live and survive in this world? I am very proud of my mom. My mom is very great!

Secret Garden

Secret Garden is a Korean series type fantasy and romance so I'm crazy now. It's a story of love between Kim Joo Won and Gil Ra Im. Kim Joo Won is a handsome businessman and riches. Gil Ga Im is a stuntwoman, who have a charm and cute but poor. Someday they were to travel at Secret Garden and drank a magic alcohol. After that they were changed spirite and follow with a disorder story many thing. The least they are how to the end you can find to watch it from DVD or internet. For me after I'm watched thinking that Kim Joo Won by Hyun Bin, he is suitable with this character very much because he is smart and handsome. But a leader actress as Gil Ra Im by Ha Ji Won is not suitable with this character because Gil Ra Im is a charm and cute girl. But Ha Ji Won in my eyesinght she is not charm and cute. However, this series yet many character is interest example Yoo Sang Hyun as Oscar (Kim Joo Won's cousin), Kim Sa Rang as Yoo Seul, Lee Philip as Im Jong Soo,Yoo In Na as Min Ah Yong and etc. Moreover it's most popular at South Korean too in the early year ago.

King Naresuan Part IV

I went to see King Naresuan Part IV, "Suek Nanthabureng" at the world Trade Theatre last Saturday. It was a special round for only PTT shareholders. It costs about 1,000 baht per ticket, quite expecsive. I am not the shareholder but my brother is a consultant of the PTT (Public) Company Limited, so I have the opportunity to see at that special round. Before the movie began, the audiences are served with snack and soft drink. In the theatre every seat is served with coke and popcorn. Do you know? In this theatre, all seats are love seats. The seat is adjustable that we can almost lie down on the seat seeing the movie. For me it was very special to see the movie that day because I had taken photo with Lieutenant Colonel Wanchana Sawasdee (Phu Phan Bird), you know him? He is so smart and handsome. Many people took photo with him. I think that he may feel a little boring of taking a lot of photos. Anyway he smiled all the time. You can see the photo.

About this movie, I think that it is quite good. Not only entertainment we got, it made the adults recognize Thai history, think of the country and be encouraged to do something fot the country. Moreover it made the young people know about Thai history from the movie that is more interesting than reading the book in the classroom. I cried a little while seeing it.

I am looking forward to see next part and I will show you another photo that I may take with other actor or actress next time.

Black Pepper

This way to make pepper a drug is dry it and crunch down and shape it a small ball. Eating about 15-20 balls per time drink it. The black pepper is a substance that can help prevent and treat Alzheimer's disease. The substance is Piperine which is an antioxidant and prevents Alzheimer's disease in the elderly. The suggestion for cooking is that it should not be put with too much heat because the hotness will eliminate Piperine. Therefore, you should make pepper sure is good quality and not too old. The simple observation is if you think pepper is less spicy, it means you get low Piperine. If you receive Piperine about 300 milligrams, prevent Alzheimer's disease, can be prevented. However, eating black pepper too much has a negative effect on your body because the toxic residue in the body may affect to the liver and other organ.

My cat and her babies :D

In August, 9^th 2011, my white cat ‘Tua Lek’ gave birth to three babies. My mom named them ‘Nam – nom (milk), Nam-som (Orange juice) and Nam-Tarn (Brown). She named them depending on their hair color; Nam-nom is plain white, Nam-som is light brown and Nam-tarn is dark brown. The brown are male while the white is female. Now, they still close their eyes tight and can’t walk.

It seems like the babies need milk and warmth from their mother all the time that she got tired. I never saw Tualek doze off while standing before. But in the first day the kittens were born, she did while standing and breast feeding the babies. She might be super tired because this is the first litter she gave birth to and is the first time she takes care of the babies. The kids now have got the big tummies as they always suck up milk a lot whenever their mouth reach their mommy’s breast.
