The Magic City

I'd never heard of this title until I came across this novel by chance because I was looking for some novel to translate for Aj.Sripen’s paper work. And I choose this one because E. Nesbit is one of my favorite authors and it was not already translated in Thai. I had to translate it only 14 pages but after that it made me want to know the entire story that’s why I will review this book ^_^
Philip and Lucy are two kids who are brought together when his older sister and guardian marries her father. Lucy is open to friendship, but            Philip is not. And when they find themselves in the magic city, Philip have to work with Lucy, who proves to a clever ally.
The basic idea is that the toys and books are made into a little city and then the kids get pulled into the city and have a grand adventure. This was a cool book. I liked the ideas in it, and the story was cool. This was pleasantly written and the whole idea of making a toy city and having it turn to life is wonderful. And the relationship between Philip and Lucy is fun to watch grow and, of course, a very happy ending. This isn't Nesbit's greatest book, but it's still highly entertaining. If you are a Nesbit fan and haven't read this yet, please do.

**Don't confuse this with The Magic World, by E. Nesbit. That book is a collection of short stories; this one is not.

How to Marry a Marquis

Another fun book by Julia Quinn, she is a favorite author of mine because her books always enjoyable. I really enjoyed this book. It was different from other historical. I'm not exactly sure why. I guess because the story is about a girl more common than most heroines in historical.
Elizabeth Hotchkiss is the head of the family since her father died five years ago. She works as the companion of Agatha, Lady Danbury. To save her family from total devastation, they decided that Elizabeth should marry a wealthy man, titled or not. Then she found a copy of How to Marry a Marquis in Lady Danbury's library and took it home thinking that it could help her snare a wealthy husband.
James Sidwell is a former agent of the War Office and was summoned by his aunt, Lady Danbury, to find out who was blackmailing her. They agreed for James to disguise as Lady Danbury's new estate manager while investigating.
The hero is a marquis in disguise as an estate manager helping his aunt discover who is blackmailing her and the heroine is the aunt's companion. The hero thinks the companion might be the guilty party, until he realizes the only thing she is hiding is an instructional book on how to marry a marquis. That is when he decides to tutor her on catching a husband.
This is a sequel to To Catch an Heiress.  I always thought James was a great secondary character in To Catch an Heiress, so I was looking forward to this one. I liked this book, but I liked 'To Catch an Heiress' better in this series. The story doesn't consist of too much investigation. Blake and Caroline (from To Catch an Heiress) made an appearance here too. But Elizabeth's reaction at the end, regarding his real identity really pissed me off. Elizabeth managed to really annoy me with her obstinacy and stubbornness, refusing to listen to reason because of false pride. I thought she overreacted given the situation.
Lady Danbury is in this book as well. She was a wonderful secondary character in the Bridgerton series and I love that series too.

I really love their UK cover >_<

To Catch an Heiress

I had read most of Julia Quinn’s books. She is my favorite author and To Catch an Heiress is the first book of her that I had a chance to read. And It's the funniest historical romance I’d ever read. This maybe wasn't Julia's best, but it was still really good. The beginning of the book was totally hilarious
Caroline is an orphan set to inherit a large shipping fortune on her 21st birthday. She has been shipped to various guardians that have also died. Her current guardian, Oliver Prewitt, ordered his son, Percy, to compromise Caroline so he can marry her and so that Oliver can control her money. After an unsuccessful attempt to force his son on her in order to ruin her and marry into her fortune, Caroline runs away.
For Blake- the hero, he is a thirty year old spy for the British war office. He captures Caroline with the misunderstanding that she is a notorious Spanish spy. He doesn't believe that is innocent and takes her with him.
I love the heroine- Caroline. I like that the fact that she takes life as it is and be surprisingly positive about it, despite her background being tossed from one guardian to another.
I couldn't believe how funny this book was. I found myself laughing all the way through this novel. I think that is a great sign of a good book and I couldn't put the book down. The story caught my interest from the very first line. It was cute, funny, and sweet. Quinn has a splendid way of making the rants between the characters extremely entertaining and funny. I love humor mixed in my romance and Julia Quinn does a great job with that.  ^_____^

Possibility to use nuclear energy for generates electric in Thailand

Possibility to use nuclear energy for generates electric in Thailand. It’s depends on many factors such as the availability of high-technology, development of involved personnel, policy and making decision, issuance of rules and laws, Licensing And supervision, possibility of elimination, the nuclear fuel wasted management in the country, economic and investment and recognized by the public etc.

At present (2549), Thailand's electricity demand approximately are 300 million kilowatt-hours per day. The maximum demand power of 22,000 MW, even though economic growth in slow down period. The rate of increasing electricity demand is still high, averaging about 6 percent per year is required to provide additional power for about 1300 MW per year on average.

In the past, the supply of energy to produces electricity are used as a domestic fuel source in most cases such as lignite, hydro and natural gas. During this period the country began to deteriorate into a power source. The imports of energy such as imported electricity from neighboring countries, imported natural gas or coal began to be more. In the future, it has two main choices that have to decide to import the coal or nuclear fuel or both.

When viewed superficially the use of coal might be easier to use nuclear energy because it is not terrible but the impact on the environment and more the burden. We need to think well before used in large quantities when coal is burned will cause carbon dioxide that will cause the greenhouse effect then has resulted in an atmosphere of global warming. A global impact may result in a high flood is waters flood the coast. Plant and animal species may become extinct so many countries including Thailand then made an agreement at the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2535 that will not increase the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and will try to reduce to a minimum if possible. There are the power plant's emissions of this type that made agreement more difficult or impossible. The powers of this kind are also increasing emissions the acidity in the environment is sulfur dioxide, Nitrogen oxides, heavy metals, ash and much more dust which are all harmful to the health of humans and animals. They also have a negative effect on the plants too. We need to eliminate and minimize emissions from power plants as possible.

The nuclear power plants it so scary than a coal plant because more chance to happen the high-impact accidents such as Chernobyl power plant (Ukraine). Although the accident level almost never happens with the plant model that used in the Western world today but the general public idea to the nuclear power plant compare with the Chernobyl accident or the atomic bomb in World War II. It’s obscure the advantages of nuclear power in the segment that cause environmental impact and make it easier to control carbon dioxide. Issues of public to understanding and acceptance are the most important issues and for another issues such as principal, policies, rules, regulations and legislation, involved, readiness to use nuclear technology, possible to manage radioactive waste in the country, development of personnel involved, economic and investment, etc.

Nuclear power plant project is a project that requires very high investments and the upfront investment for a long time until will be returned. The countries have evolved a lot and have a reasonably good economy that readiness in terms of investment is not a problem but only nuclear power policy and decision-making power in this certainly will have to make an investment with low risk if you had already invested a change one’s mind, Policy change and discontinued use of nuclear energy for instance in some countries. This Investment is wasted away.

This is what I've gained from this writing course.

This is the last post of mine eventually. It has been almost a whole semester that I've studied writing with Aj. Karn. My attitude toward writing changed since I have taken this course. I had always thought that the good writing must be grammatically correct. But now I realized that I was wrong. The key of good writing is how well the idea is organized. This course gives me many helpful writing techniques to approach an ideal composition. I said "approach" because I admit that my writing is not good enough, but at least I already knew how to make it better.
I would like to thank Aj. Karn for the best effort to help a novice writer like me. Without Ajarn, I could not go this far (not that far but far enough, hopefully this is not confusing.) I regret that this course will be the last course studying with her. But there's still some good news that Ajarn owns a Facebook page where I can leave some questions about English even I have no longer continued taking the course anymore. Khob khun ka :D

"Lucky" enlightens my life.

About six months ago, I went to the National Book Fair held at Queen Sirikit Convention Center and bought a lot of books. Most of the books I bought give tricks to think positively. One of those become my favorite, it is translated from Japanese into Thai. It's called เคล็ดลับแสนง่ายเพื่อชีวิตลักกี้ (Lucky.) The book provides the simple trick for someone who wants to be lucky by changing themselves along with what the majority prefer. Furthermore, its provides the cute illustrated cartoon in order to make readers understand easier. If you want to read something which is not serious and not too hard to understand. I strongly believe this book is one of the best answers.

Wanglang Market: The Paradise for Used Cloth Lover.

I would like to introduce my favorite place to buy used clothes, Wanglang Market. It is located near the Phran Nok Pier and Siriraj Hospital. The market is divided into a few small alleys. Therefore, it's always crowded there. There are many used items sold in this market including clothes, bags, leather belts, etc. However, I love to buy used clothes the most as the price of clothes is not expensive. At average, it costs only 70 - 100 bath and the textures and materials of clothes are quite good. Furthermore, Wanglang Market is not too far from my house, I can take the boat from Rama VII Pier to Phran Nok Pier and it takes only 30 - 45 minutes.
Before going here, I recommend that you should bring an umbrella and a handy fan and apply sunblock on your skin as the whether there is always hot and shiny.

Now it is in late rainy season in Thailand. The most useful thing in the rainy season is an umbrella. It can help people protect from the rain. Because of it, they won’t get wet and clod. For women, an umbrella is in their fashion too. They were made in several colors and patterns. For men, the umbrella isn’t quite necessary for them. However, I think some men taking their umbrellas with them aren’t unusual. There are different sizes of umbrellas at present. Thus, people should buy an umbrella following their pur poses. Moreover, not only the umbrella is useful in the rainy season, but it is also useful in summer; because the sun can burn you anywhere.

Response to Panida Changson(The top 10 of fruits make you fat)
By Kungsadal Anuphan MTEB 5380580018
Some fruits are good for health such as apples, pineapples, and oranges; but some kinds are not good because of their large amount of sugar. Actually, I think that every kinds of fruit is useful, but we should eat them properly such as Kluay khai, although it contains much sugar, it helps our digestion easily. All the kinds of bananas are useful although they contain much sugar. The best way to be healthy is to eat everything properly. In my experience, I like Kluay namwa because it isn’t so sweet and it also has high fiber. I have some tips about bananas-when you always have some bananas with any dishes for breakfast in the morning, you will get more nutrient than you think.

The fifth response

Response to k_agura (Dusit Zoo)
By Kungsadal Anuphan MTEB 5380580018
Dusit zoo is a classic place for every generations of Thai people. When I was young, my mother often took me to Dusit zoo. She walked with me around there. On holidays, there were some wonderful shows of the animals. Every time I saw my pictures at Dusit zoo, I always smiled because of my childhood. It is said that someone who is falling in love must go there with his/her lovers. However, nowadays the lovers hardly go there anymore. For last few years, I went there a few times with my students. Wherever I go to Dusit Zoo, I feel peaceful and pleasant.

The fourth response

Response to ma-ki98 (Pizza)
By Kungsadal Anuphan MTEB 5380580018
Actually, pizza is a wonderful dish for me-if it is delicious. In my opinion, I don’t eat pizza very often because almost popular brands of pizzas aren’t tasty like they said on TV. Do you know “Narai Pizzeria”? It is an old brand of pizza in Thailand. Even though it isn’t the most delicious pizza I have ever eaten, but try it once. You will know that it’s different. Everyone must know “S&P”. Some people only thinks about bread and cake, but a surprising thing is the taste of its pizza. If you all never taste it, try some. And then you will know that the real thing of pizza is. Caution-it is better to wave it before eating, it is yummy 555.

the third response

Response to sirimas(What colour do you like?)
By Kungsadal Anuphan MTEB 5380580018
The most favorite color is purple because I think it is bright and strong in the same time. Someone misunderstands about the meaning of the purple color because he/she thinks it is a bad luck for a widow. However, I still use everything in purple because I can’t be a widow if I don’t get married now 555. Another meaning of purple color is for gays. It is no wonder that I like the way of gays very much(only active gays)555.

The second response

Response to Lek_118(Flower Color Meanings)
By Kungsadal Anuphan MTEB 5380580018
Actually, I don’t like to get some flowers like an ordinary girl, but I love to see and buy it for others. In a Korean series, there is an actress who doesn’t like getting flowers because she had some bad memories in her life; but she still love to buy and give it to her mom. However, I have some favorite flowers. Those are yellow and purple flowers. Their colors can influence me sometimes, for example, about purple flowers, I always look for success and royalty in my life. About yellow flowers, it means all of my own because I am always joyful and have a lot of friends. Finally, I think flowers make me fresh and happy.

The first response

Response to Sutthasinee K.(Let’s go to SLEEP)
By Kungsadal Anuphan MTEB 5380580018
At first, I forgot that I had just saved the first response, but I haven’t post yet. I’m so silly.
I think adequate sleep is very important for one’s health. In the past I hardly went to bed early. If I could have changed my past, I would have gone to bed earlier than before; because it made me better in any study. Food is also important for goodnight sleep, so I eat some bananas before going to bed. Who knows. Banana is a fantastic fruit because it helps me sleep easily. If someone doesn’t like banana, he or she can have some whole grain crackers with milk. It ‘s good for everybody too. Bedroom is quite the most comfortable place in the house, so someone can get some herbs in the bedroom like chamomile or basil. Be careful with some herbs because their smells can make you sleepless.

Jusus Christ

Jesus Christ was the founder of the Christian religion which the most Christians believe that Jesus is the son of God and came to the earth to save people from their sins. He grew up at Nazareth in Israel about 4 B.C. Jesus lived with his mother Mary and father Joseph. When 30 year-old, he began to teach and preach about God. The rulers in Jerusalem and the priests in the temple thought of Jesus as dangerous. The Roman governor, Pontius Pilate, ordered that Jesus be killed by the crucifixion.

Hyena

A hyena is a meat-eating mammal that lives in the north of the Sahara in Africa and India and southern Asia. The largest and most common hyena is the spotted hyena, also called the laughing hyena because its howl sounds like laughter. The hyena may weigh up to 79 kilograms. Many people think that the hyena is a scavenger which only eats flesh of dead animals but that’s not true. In fact, it is a bold hunter and can run down zebras and antelopes.

Amphibian

Amphibians are class of clod-blooded animals. They live in the water and land such as toads, frogs, salamanders, and newts etc. Amphibians hatch their eggs in the water. They are born without arms and legs which they look like tiny fish with long tails. The newborn amphibians live in the water and breathe with gills but when adults they live mostly on land and use lungs to breathe. Toads have dry, warty skin (in my opinion it’s uncanny) which is often dark brown. Frogs have smooth skin and green or brown for them. Salamanders and newts seem like small lizards.

Where to go and what to do Episode I: The beginning of the journey and my Australia memories.

If you love to travel around this little world, I had some experiences to share with you. For the past 15 years I have visited many countries which are Australia, Austria, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Japan, Korea, Lichtenstein, Malaysia, Myanmar, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan,
Uzbekistan and Vietnam. Some countries I had many chances to go back but some are none. These all 24 countries have their own culture and beautiful scene. They give me many different impression and experiences, so join me to share your wonderful experiences.

I am a lucky guy who had many opportunities to work and travel throughout the world. My experiences that I received from all trips will have no mean, if I don’t exchange them to the other. This short story willbe the first episode of the experience sharing that I really want to share all of
them with everyone who enjoy listen to them. However, a problem about the experience sharing is what country I should pick up at the beginning. Finally, I decided to arrange by alphabetical. Therefore, Australia will be the first one.

During the past 15 years, I went to Australia twice times. Both of them are for travel with my family. For the first trip, my family and I chose to live in only one city. Sydney was our target and we spent 2 weeks there. Due to many years past, I have to use some old photos to remind and recall my blur memory about this trip. The opera house, the experience of skin driving in the Great Barrier Reef and the short operation time of the shopping mall are all my memories about this trip.

I, my younger brother and my father rent a car to drive from Sydney to Melbourne in the second trip. Along the funny driving, we had many beautiful memories. For me, my best memory for this trip happens when we stop driving for playing golf in a small town called Tiboon. I really love playing golf in that community golf course because the grass on the fairway is naturally thick and the fairway is set between the forests of the big trees, so I can feel the great feeling every time I hit a golf ball.

I really enjoy both Australia trips because both of them are travel trips not the business trip and to travel in Australia I recommended to rent a car because you can choose your own route and activities that will make you find the real happiness for your Australia trip.
