How to Choose Sunglasses

The shape of face is important when selecting and fitting the correct sunglass. There are several general face shapes: square, oval, round, diamond, rectangle and triangle.

Please take a few minutes to identify your face shape and the corresponding frame shape.

SQUARE FACE: Try to add length to your face by selecting sunglasses that are rounded and are not wide as the widest part of your face.

OVAL FACE: The oval face shape is the easiest to select sunglasses. Make sure that the frame you select is proportionate to your face.

ROUND FACE: You should select frames that have angular lines to sharpen and add definition to a round face shape. Rectangular sunglasses frame shapes will look good on you.

DIAMOND FACE: Frames that add width above the cheekbone will compliment the diamond shaped face. Oval frames or rimless styles work with this type of shape.

RECTANGLE FACE: It is similar to the square shaped face with a slightly longer face length. Big sun glasses and round frame shapes will fit with you. Try to select frames that will add width to the face.

TRIANGLE FACE: We would recommend you to add width in the eye area to offset the chin area. This will add balance to your face.

Sunglasses not only look fashionable, but they also help to protect your eyes from
the damaging rays of the sun too!!!!!!

"Response to Nawaporn on Massaman Curry, the Most Delicious Dish in the World"

Hi, P’Porn! Your text is so interesting for me. I’m so glad that our Massaman curry is the first dish on the list of the “World's 50 Most Delicious Foods”. I’m a person who loves to eat spicy food, especially Thai curries. If I have an opportunity to eat Massaman curry, I must like it so much for sure.

As we know Massaman curry is considered to be the king of curries, and perhaps the king of all foods. Also, it is a kind of food which appears on the work of the King Mongkut (Rama IV). Although I have never tasted it, I think it must be tasty. My beloved aunt tells me that Massaman curry is spicy, sweet and savory, its combination of flavors is very appetizing and also can indicate personality of Thai food. In my family, we really love cook meals ourselves. My aunt is the best cook in the family because she always cooks food very delicious for all members. So I love to eat curries with her workmanship. We often buy raw materials from a fair market near our home to cook for meals. Most meals we eat are rice topped with curries and vegetables. Curries surprisingly become my favorite food.

However, Thai cooking reflects the gorgeous characteristics of Thai culture. Fresh herbs which are the major ingredients of Thai curry can reflect the value of Thai food. Similarly, Massaman curry can clearly affirm fineness of Thai food for the status of the first dish on the list of the “World's 50 Most Delicious Foods”.

Thank you for sharing ja!!!

My Wonderful Impression on Sanamjan Palace

This is a place of my impression that I never forget. Although I had an opportunity to visit there when I studied in high school, I still have remembered fineness of the palace until now. Today I will tell you all about its fineness.

Sanamjan palace is located in Nakornpatom. The palace is contained with gorgeous residences as follows:

- Pimanpatom Hall
- Apiromrudee Hall
- Watchareerommaya Hall
- Samakkeemookkamat Hall
- Chareemongkolart Hall
- Mareeratruttanabanlang Hall
- Tabkaew Hall
- Tabkhwan Hall

I did many things when I arrived there. The first of all, I paid respect to the image of King Mongkut (Rama IV), the king who built the palace, and I made wishes for my family and myself. Next I went to sigh-seeing at the residences inside the palace. I felt impressed on all beautiful residences, but Chareemongkolart Hall and Mareeratruttanabanlang Hall were two residences that I extremely felt impressed. Chareemongkolart Hall was designed on Neo-Classic architecture. It was red and built in doubled style. Jarlet Monument was built in front of it made me felt attracted so much. Mareeratruttanabanlang Hall was designed on Renaissance architecture. It was yellowish and built in doubled style. Importantly, the names of both residences were so sweet-sounding for me.

Besides its fineness that made me so impressed, I could touch the beautiful and pleasant atmosphere inside the palace. Before I went home, I went to a restaurant near the palace. I like the food there especially Khao Moo Daeng and Ped Toon that I have still remembered their deliciousness. They really tasted good, and the price was quite reasonable.

^-^ I think “Sanamjan Palace” is one of wonderful palaces in Thailand. Also, its fine architecture and art are so important and attracts many Thai and foreign visitors. ^-^

Umbrella

Raining season is coming to Thailand we shall prepare for this wet weather and do not forget to bring umbrella when you are going out. But do you know how an umbrella comes from? I found this and want to share with you.

The origins of Umbrella

The basic umbrella was invented over four thousand years ago. We have seen evidence of umbrellas in the ancient art and artifacts of Egypt, Assyria, Greece, and China.

These ancient umbrellas or parasols, were first designed to provide shade from the sun. The Chinese were the first to waterproof their umbrellas for use as rain protection. They waxed and lacquered their paper parasols in order to use them for rain.

The word "umbrella" comes from the Latin root word "umbra", meaning shade or shadow. Starting in the 16th century the umbrella became popular to the western world, especially in the rainy weather of northern Europe. At first it was considered only an accessory suitable for women. Then the Persian traveler and writer, Jonas Hanway (1712-86), carried and used an umbrella publicly in England for thirty years, he popularized umbrella use among men. English gentleman often referred to their umbrellas as a "Hanway." The first all umbrella shop was called "James Smith and Sons" opened in 1830, and is still located at 53 New Oxford Street in London, England.

The early European umbrellas were made of wood or whalebone and covered with alpaca or oiled canvas. The artisans made the curved handles for the umbrellas out of hard woods like ebony, and were well paid for their efforts.

In 1852, Samuel Fox invented the steel ribbed umbrella design. Fox also founded the "English Steels Company", and claimed to have invented the steel ribbed umbrella as a way of using up stocks of farthingale stays, steel stays used in women's corsets.

After that, compact collapsible umbrellas were the next major technical innovation in umbrella manufacture, over a century later.

My best Japan trip part VI

Arrived Hiroshima around 5 p.m. on Christmas day in 2008, my hi-light destination for this area wasn’t Hiroshima city but it was a small island named Miyajima that I prepared to visit on the day after the Christmas. However, 5 p.m. seemed too early to sleep for me and Hiroshima city had many interested place included well decorated streets and building during the Christmas time.

After checked in at a hotel, the first thing I must do was test some traditional food, so I rushed out to test the Hiroshima’s Okonomiyaki. This popular dish had been well known in many countries including Thailand. However, the original Okonomiyaki is Hiroshima’s Okonomiyaki. Some people might call this kind of food as a Japanese pancake. It is usually made from flour, water, eggs and cabbage. The chopped cabbage is mixed with the eggs, water and flour with some additional ingredients such as pork, beef, onions, octopus, squid and mushrooms. Mix all ingredients together and pour it on a grill then let it cook like a pancake. Because I was very hungry, so I used only five minutes to finish my Okonomiyaki. Then, it was the time to discover the Hiroshima city, the city of bombarded.

Hiroshima has contained one of the bad memory of the mankind which is the enormously death of the people. During the World War II, 90,000–166,000 of Hiroshima citizen had been killed by a nuclear bomb when the United States dropped an atomic bomb on this area at 8:15 A.M. on August 6, 1945 aim to stopped the invasion of Japan to other countries and the result is more than successful because Japan agreed to surrender on 15 August 1945. From that day until, more than 60 years have passed, now Japan emphasizes on enhancing its technology and economic and became the world second largest economic. There are Hiroshima peace memorial museum and a building that half of it destroyed by the bomb to remind of the war. However, no one in Hisoshima think about the worst of war memory any more. I could feel from the laugh and smile that I saw around this city on the Christmas night of 2008.
