The English language is known for absorbing words from different language. And many phrases from other language have also be come an accepted part of English.
The phrase "bon voyage" comes from French. Today, however, it has become something native English speakers often say to a person going on a trip or setting off on a journey. Bon voyage, literally meaning "good trip" or "happy voyage" has became accepted in English, though the pronunciation has changed somewhat from the original French.
Another phrase from a foreign language that has become a past of the English language is "hasty la vista." This phrase is from Spanish and it can mean "until I see you" or "until we meet" or "good-bye." Though it is not found in most dictionaries yet, it nonetheless has become a popular phrase in modern American English.
