My best Japan trip VII

700 miles away from my dormitory in Tokyo, I really excited to visit one of the most beautiful island located near Hiroshima. After took a boat approximately 15 minutes, this small island when I saw from the pear became bigger and showed its beautiful scene when saw from the sea. Itsukushima island known as Miyajima which means Shrine island and of course this island is full of Buddhism shrines as the meaning of its name. Many Japanese people said that this island is an island where people and gods live together. The most impression spot of the island may be the Torii giant gate, which at high sea level this red gate seems to float on top of the water. Miyajima is a romantic place with a blend view of mountains, sea, red-shrine, shopping street and so on.

I walked from one shrine to another without boring because the different beautiful view and the interesting story of the place that I visited. I had pray, donate and bought some souvenirs when I visited each shrines. I had to carefully walk on the path because they are millions of Buddha statue and Buddhism god statue along the way that I walked.

As same as the other Thai people, who love to test some delicious food when travel, I enjoined a dish of grill oyster and some other traditional seafood. My memory of the day that I visited Miyajima is another best memory because it is the day that I really enjoy my life with beautiful scene, delicious food and peacefulness shrines. More than 500 photos that I took around the island may be the best evident that explain my impressive feeling about this island.

Espresso

Many people like to drink coffee; espresso especially is a kind of coffee they like. One Piece

One Piece is a Japan’s comic written by Eiichiro ODA which appeared in Shonen Jump Magazine on August 4, 1997. It was made into an anime weekly by Shueisha on August 24, 1997.
One Piece is about the adventures of Monkey D Luffy who has a power of the devil fruit because he ate it that make him a powerful elasticity. Luffy's dreams is to find the world famous treasure name’s One Piece and wanna be the Pirate King. Since he was young wanted the ship to Shang Coos, who safe Luffy’s life until he lost his arm. Shang Coos knew more a dangerous of the sea so he doesn’t gave Luffy sail together. 17 years later, Monkey D Luffy start to sailing for find a treasure name’s “One piece”.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Play.

Many people would know the Play Station that is a console game but it just play in a house only. For a long time the Play Station became to Play Station2 and Play Station3 but its still play in a house or just in a room only. Later, Sony Corp sends Play Station Portable for a gamer who wants to carry the game to play out of home or another place but more people want Play Station Portable can make a phone. More than 5 years for waiting. Now, Sony Corp sends Play Station Phone or a formal name is “Xperia Play”. Xperia Play is a machine that compounded a phone with Play Station on Android operating system. It had a gamepad as same as Play Station to slide for play a game and had a bigger touch screen more than Play Station Portable. After I had a chance for play I think it’s good but no more than Play Station Portable in game because support games no more for this time is no more and you can’t play. Play Station Portable game on it. Everything is good if don’t mind amount of the game. Another function like a android phone all over. However, for me just you buy one but you got the phone and Play Station together that is the best thing!!

My sitting meditation at Wat Marp Jan

It sounds weird, huh? Anyway, my today’s post will be about my meditation lesson. Go on. This was my first time to practice and learn Dhamma at Wat Marp Jan in Rayong. The moment that I made up my mind to stay at Wat Marp Jan for two nights, I first felt scared of something I have never known at that place even if I was accompanied by my friend. But then, my panic feeling was disappeared when my pace had stepped in Wat Marp Jan. How come? That was because I got a chance to sit for meditation and listen Dhamma teaching. After that, my mind had become calm and wonderful because I didn’t have to think or feel worried about something which made my mind unhappy or displease. In other words, my mind was as if the sea stayed calm and pacific. When my meditation was done, the next thing I have to do was to do activities like cleaning restroom, sweeping leaves on the temple’s ground, or cleaning kitchen. From the teaching, while I was doing something, I need to be mindful that I was doing the thing and have to do it carefully; that is, I had to do one thing at one time.

As the sun had set, I walked to its chapel on hill to pray and practice the sitting meditation in the evening. Around serene and placid circumstance, my meditation just focused peacefully on my in-and-out breaths so that my mind could not think about anything else. This is the point of this story. That I tell you about my meditation is because I want to tell you that meditation can help you in many areas. To illustrate, if you do anything mindfully and carefully, you will get it done successfully. And I would like you to try sitting for meditation or doing anything with mindfulness. For beginner like me, you should go step by step by sitting for meditation once a week for 15 – 20 minutes and then, twice a week for 20 – 30 minutes. I know that you may feel bored with it when you read my post above. But you know what? The meditation will teach you how to live and be happy. Wonderful!!

Mother's Day of Thailand

The 12th of August is The Queen's Birthday. This day is also celebrated as National Mother's Day.
The Queen is considered as the mother of all Thai people.

On the 12 August early morning time, Thai Buddhist people go to temple and make offerings to monks as usual. At the school, during this day or the day before, mothers go to schools. Children say little speechs about their love to their mother. Then every child stand in front of his mother, greet her feet and say their love towards their mother.

When I was young, my mother take care me every time and teach everything to me. I love my mother so much. And I believe that everyone love their mother too.

Most of fruits you mentioned are my favourite fruit except number ten. Fortunately that you don't tell about Durian for that's my most favourite one, how much is sugar it it? Do you have any way to eat without being fat. I like eating fruit but I'm afraid of being fat and diabetes as well. I think that Thailand is the land of fruit. There are many kind of fruits that we can eat every season or every month differently. Not only Thais love Thai fruit but also foreigners. It will be very good if we can eat fruit safely, don't you think so?

President Obama: Just Like us!

- He goes to the church! The Obamas were cheerful when they left St. John's Church across from the White House.

- He goes topless! Obama showed off his six-pack abs on a trip of Honolulu, Hawaii.

- He works out! In the morning, President Obama goes to the gym.

- He has a date at night! The Mr. and Mrs. enjoyed dinner at Chicago's Spiaggia.

- His hair goes gray! Obama's barber of 14 years, Zariff, said that his client has never complained about his gray hair at all.

- He reads classic books! President Obama read Green Egg and Ham with First Lady Michelle (and daughters Malia and Sasha).

‘Man with a Pan’

As for a saying ‘Cooking works like a charm’, you may think about housewives cooking for kids and husbands. On the other way around, nowadays more husbands now cook for families. Like John Donohue; the author of Man with a Pan, he is an editor and cartoonist. Then, he found a new job; a chef of his family, when he become a father of his firstborn. His turning point to cook for family was that some day he led his family decided to have dinner at a restaurant nearby his apartment. Unfortunately, it turned out that the restaurant was crowded when they got there. Besides, his baby, Aurora, started to cry so he and his wife, Sarah, could not have dinner. On the way home, he realized that his earlier dining out at restaurants was quite miles away from home and spending a lot of money. His wife is not interested in cooking. After that, they had a second baby—Isis—making them exhausted from taking care of the baby as Isis was always waking up at midnight. So they sleep less but do more activities at night for looking after their baby, Isis. Night after night, as he prepared delicious food to please his wife, who lacked of sleep, and to feed two babies, he suddenly felt that he was doing something so good. He said, “He loves to cook in the kitchen at home and feels happy to be a father.” He also said that more husbands turned to cook or prepare food for their family now than in the past. With more wives or moms working, husbands or dads should do meals for family. Dining out makes family fatter so dining at home is a good way to avoid this bad effect as well. In this book ‘Man with a Pan: Culinary Adventures of Fathers Who Cook For Their Families’, John also asked other men to share their story of cooking by collecting 34 essays written by writers and chefs.

Beware!!! Bed Bug at Hotel

I arrived home on Friday 29 Aug,2011 after I travelled at Hong Kong. On Monday, I woke up I found a slight rash on my arms. I think Mosquito bites. On Tuesday, The rash has spread I have a rash all over my body. I confuse I've never had a rash before. I went to see the doctor He told me the cause of bed bug bite.

Today I will share about "Bed Bug"

When the beg bug bite, it begins with a red, small and round , bump which looks more swollen than a mosquito rash. Initially, only a swollen bump can be seen. In due course of time, the rash spreads all over. This indicates that many bed bugs have started biting you. But in some cases, the rash may look similar to a bite mark in sequence. This is seen in people who constantly move when they’re sleeping. Once the bed bugs notice movement around them, they quickly run back to their hiding places. When you suspect a bed bug rash, examine it for a few days. The rash causes prolonged itching for days together .Also, a bed bug rash doesn’t heal as quickly as mosquito bites. It remains swollen for weeks together.

The most important step of all is to try and reduce the chances of bed bugs lying around your bedroom area. The best is calamine lotion is easy to find in stores and it is cheap as well. If you happened to be bitten by the bugs already, you can also apply calamine lotion on the bites to ease the itchiness and reduce the swelling that resulted because of the bites.

I reduce the rash by apply some calamine lotion and take medicine from the doctor. I hope you beware the bed bug at the hotel.

Port (fortified wine)

Do you know Port fortified wine? It’s a kind of wine, but this kind of wine was mixed from wine and brandy. This kind of wine was noted that, “great wine, high degree and high price”. A great fortified wine of the world is from Spain and Portuguese, Spain calls their fortified wine “Sherry” but Portuguese call their fortified wine as “Port” Normally wine has 7 degree but when they mixed with brandy, it has 20 – 25 % degree. The full name of port is Oporto. Port is very popular because Portuguese got low tax to export Port to Britain.

Passing the Port

The most widely known tradition is believed to come from British naval customs for serving the wine. The decanter of port is placed in front of the host who then serves the guest to his right, then passes the decanter to the guest on his left (port-side). The port is then passed to the left all the way back to the host.
